WISE HD Awarded Grant for Creativity Park in Annapolis, MD

WISE HD and The Chesapeake Children’s Museum have been awarded a grant to build the first Creativity Park. The park is designed to help visitors build creativity and wellbeing through the Create 8 skillset. The park will be open, free of change, from sunup to sunset beginning in 2024. In addition, WISE HD will design a permeant creativity education exhibit for The Chesapeake Children’s Museum as well as school creativity field trip experiences.
Melissa Schmitz – Hooded and Honored

On May 6, 2022, Dr. Melissa M. Schmitz, WISE HD founder, was recognized for her doctoral work that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. In addition to participating in the hooding ceremony, Dr. Schmitz was honor as the 2020 Dr. Ken Mawritz Memorial Award winner. The Dr. Ken Mawritz Memorial Award is presented to a Drexel EdD student who demonstrates “the joy of learning and shares this passion with others in the Drexel community.”
WISE HD founder joins Drexel University’s E-LaBS as Associate Researcher

Dr. Melissa Schmitz, WISE HD founder, was named as associate researcher at Drexel University E-LaBS.
E-Labs (Education, Leaning and Brain Science) is part of Drexel University’s School of Education. The purpose of E-LaBS is to bring interdisciplinary faculty, researchers, administrators, and students together to support innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
Dr. Schmitz is currently engaged in research concerning evidence-based practices, professional development and study of PK-12 Teachers and Administrators.
